MaxDefense - Combatives For Law

Adrenaline Stress self defense training has been utilized for 30+ years in the private sector. Various groups have used scenario based - role-playing and specially designed armor to induce fear and the subsequent adrenal response for training students while in the adrenal state. The MaxDefense, or Fear Adrenaline Stress Training Defense teaching method is a combination of Olympic Coaching Techniques, Sports Psychology, Group Dynamics, Team Building, Verbal Boundary Setting and Martial Arts Techniques. Together, these various methods combine to form a teaching methodology that is not only effective but also short in duration and highly retainable.

Dealing with the effects of an emotionally, verbally, and physically induced adrenal response is the most important factor in successful defensive and tactical training. Just a few effects of the adrenaline response to fear and stress include increased pain tolerance, pulse and blood pressure elevation, strength increase and the loss of fine motor control. Tunnel vision and auditory exclusion also occur making it difficult to see more than the immediate threat or hearing background noises or the voices of others.

Utilizing the MaxDefense teaching methodology, a series of defensive tactics courses have been designed specifically to address LE Survival while in the "adrenal rush state". MaxDefense courses can be utilized as a final step in a training evolution, for performance assessment or as a yearly high intensity refresher course. MaxDefense programs of instruction provide the opportunity to train personnel with reality-based training methods as close to "real-life" as possible without injuries occurring. MaxDefense is economical, effective, and highly retainable. Guaranteed!

Courses can be custom designed to meet the specific demands and needs of your Department. For more information contact us at info@maxdefense.net

MaxDefense - Legal Considerations

All of the MaxDefense LE Survival courses have been designed to follow the Constitutional Standards of Deadly Force. It is important to MaxDefense that the training received in these courses not only prepare an individual for survival on the streets but in the courts as well. Therefore, the majority of training scenarios depicted in these courses place the trainee in imminent danger. This follows the 1995 Attorney General Janet Reno's Federal Deadly Force Policy. Action is always faster than reaction; thus the main goal of these courses and training scenarios is to reduce reaction time during a life threatening action.

What makes these MaxDefense courses unique is the situational teaching methodology. Expert instructors agree that reality-based training provides a much higher percentage of skill mastery and most importantly, skill retention than that of traditional classroom lecture and training.  Implementation of all tactics is through FULL FORCE Fear Adrenaline Stress Training and Force-On-Force training methods.

These training methods provide a means to assess whether an individual can transfer the knowledge gained in training to real life. Our viewpoint is to assume that this transfer has not occurred until the trainee can demonstrate that it has.

Reality-based scenario training and subsequent performance assessment are two ways in which to further strengthen Use of Force policies by eliminating any "gaps" in an individuals training, skill retention, or decision making progression.
